Goodreads Description:
17-year-old Vicky Hernandez has a big problem. She's dead. Or not quite. After discovering she's been turned into a vampire, she tries to settle into a quiet suburb of Chicago and return to a normal life.

If only she could stop wanting to bite her boyfriend. Not to mention she is dying to find out who turned her, and why. She doesn't have to wait long before they come to her.

Vicky wakes up to find herself buried in a coffin.  She digs her way out, only to soon come in contact with a vampire - whom she accidentally kills.  She soon realizes that she, too, is a vampire.  She has no idea what happened to her and how she came to be this way.

This story takes us through her journey to start her new life as a vampire.  She steals cars, can put suggestions into the human mind through her beautiful eyes, and has to try to resist the irresistible scents of food coming from the humans.  She glamours a librarian to let her live with her as her niece, makes friends with her new school classmates, and even has to keep from being kidnapped multiple times from her creator.  Vicky has come to terms with her new life as a vampire and even finds love along the way.  Hey- maybe being a vampire isn't so bad after all.  At least she can still go out in the sun.

I think this story was really great. It takes a unique twist on other vampire books.  The humans smell just like all of Vicky's favorite foods like chocolate and muffins.  How on earth she is able to resist that is way beyond me.  If all my favorite foods were laid out in front of me like a buffet, I would be scarfing down everything I could.
There is plenty of romance along with action and hardships.  At the beginning, you start to feel sorry for Vicky because she is lost with no money, home, car and has to learn to control her cravings.  She is really a strong character and learns how to deal with the hand that she is dealt.  She is able to make a life for herself and her powers can come in pretty handy when she wants something.

So overall, I would say that you should go grab a copy of this and read it cause it was such an entertaining read that was well written and flowed nicely throughout the story.  I didn't find myself bored one time and was even laughing out loud at the humor within.  The action tends to keep you on your toes and the romance just makes them curl.  The villains in the book constantly pull surprise attacks but Vicky and her friends may not be able to thwart all of them and get themselves in a mess of trouble.  So,  with a great price and storyline, you just can't go wrong if you run over to Amazon and pick up this book!
