Baring It All
Generations of werewolves have been secretly residing in a secluded valley a stone’s throw from Grundy, Alaska. So when a snooping Outsider comes to Grundy to investigate rumors of lycanthropic shenanigans in the area, the valley’s pack alpha, Maggie Graham, resolves to chase him away, even if doing so takes a quick bite on the butt. What a pity that researcher Nick Thatcher turns out to be so drool-worthy, and that his kisses make Maggie want to sit up and beg. Maggie just can’t seem to convince Nick to leave . . . and even worse, she can’t convince herself to stay away from him. Cross-species dating is problem enough for a harried alpha female, but on top of that, a rival group of werewolves is trying to move into the valley. With interpack war threatening, Maggie can’t afford to be distracted. Combining romance and a career can be tough for anyone; for a werewolf in love with a human, it may be disastrous. . . .

After the last acting Alpha was killed to save her sister in law, Maggie has been appointed the position of Alpha and she takes her new role in the pack very seriously. She is responsible for protecting everyone in the pack, something she does very well.

Nick is a scientist and all around geek. He has come to grundy to investigate the wolf attacks, thinking there is more to them then meets the eye. Nick thinks its werewolves attacking people and he plans on getting to the bottom of the story.

Maggie is sent to check out the new guy poking his nose into business that doesn't concern him. She has every intention to send him packing the minute she walks in. But when Maggie sees him she becomes dumb struck. He is gorgeous! With sandy hair and glasses. He has that whole hot professor thing going on. Nick asks Maggie if she will be his guide and take him to the spots where the killings happened, Maggie immediately declines, But Nick won't take no for an answer. He wants Maggie as a guide... maybe more.

Someone or something is threatening everything Maggie has come to love. Her job, her pack... her life. She can't sense whoever it is but knows that it is definitely a shifter. All she knows is that he smells very strongly like dryer sheets. Will Maggie get to the bottom of who is threatening her before its too late?

I loved this book. I think I may have enjoyed it even more than I did the first book How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf . Ever since the last book I was wondering what was with Maggie... and in this book you get to see everything the way she sees it. She is stubborn, sarcastic and snarky... yet hilarious! She doesn't let anyone get the better of her... that is anyone but Nick. From day one she has no clue how to act around Nick but knows she wants nothing more than to be an important part of his life. Maggie can't humor thoughts like those though. She needs to mate with another wolf in order to guarantee that the wolf line will continue.

Maggie tries to fight her feelings for Nick though the better part of the book, but it is so funny how she fights though feelings and the conversations between them are hilarious. Maggie does have more than one suitor after her though. Clay and Lee are also contending to mate with Maggie and continue the line, but not without exceptions, they both also want to stake a claim as Alpha of the pack.

Amanda Ronconi narrates the book, brining life to Maggie and the interesting cast of characters. Ronconi has a very tomboyish voice which suits Maggie to a T. Unlike the first book, her male voice for Nick does creep me out, which made me enjoy the book a little more. In the last book her voice for Cooper sounded much like he had just been kicked in the junk. The voice for Nick is much more tolerable than that.

I am hoping that we will see more in this series because I am loving these books.

  1. It's nothing like romance mix in with mating with another species. From your description I would read the book alone just from the romance stand point.I would like to know how it turn out.Did she follow her heart or stay true to her pack?. Great review!

  2. Fun review. I enjoyed reading this book and I can only imagine how funny the audio book would be.
