One bad corpse can ruin your whole day.

No one knows better than Rhiannon Murphy that one bad corpse can ruin your whole day.
She left behind the flash and sass of Miami for the no-nonsense groove of New York City, eager for a clean slate and a fresh start. A bartender by trade, a loud mouth by choice, and a necromancer by chance; she managed to keep her nifty talent hidden from those around her—until now.

The deliciously good-looking vampire, Disco, knows her secret. When he strolls into her bar to solicit help investigating the mysterious disappearances of his kind from the city, Rhiannon discovers he’s not the kind of person that appreciates the significance of the word no.

But in a world where vampires peddle their blood as the latest and greatest drug of choice, it’s only a matter of time before the next big thing hits the market. Someone or something is killing vampires to steal their hearts, and unlike Rhiannon, this isn’t their first stroll around the undead block.

Rhiannon is someone that can see the dead and has spent her life not allowing anyone to get to close to her, due to her horrible childhood. But all of that is about to change when a gorgeous vampire named Disco enters the picture. He needs Rhiannon's help to find the vampires in his "family" who have gone missing. It seems as though something or someone is taking them and harvesting their hearts but no one can figure out why.

Disco also enlists the help of Goose. Goose is another necromancer but he doesn't have the power to see the twice dead. He does however know how to use his powers, one thing that Rhiannon is lacking. She has no idea what to do with her unused talent, she is more worried about keeping Disco at bay. Can Rhiannon help Disco before its to late? and will Disco be able to break down the walls Rhiannon has built so high up, so that he can be a part of her life?

Okay so first off... this book starts out amazingly. All through the book I was hanging on ever single written word. I do suggest if you are under 18 you steer clear of this book though, it does have some very descriptive brutality in it, which I don't believe someone under 18 should read.  Anyways back to what I was saying. The book is full of romance , suspense and action. Its fabulously written and I enjoyed it immensely... that is until the end.

This ending SUCKED! I even went as far to saying... "well that was a waste of my time." I was so frustrated with the ending, I still am. I just can't stand how the book ended. I seriously want to find the author and be like "What the hell were you thinking?". My rating is effected definietly by the ending. This would have been 5 stars all the way if it hadn't ended so poorly! Anyways I just couldn't bring myself to give this book a great rating after that ending.

My suggestions... if you want a great read, read this book. Its an awesome book. Just skip the ending and make up your own... it may serve a better purpose!

  1. waa, your comment about the ending is turning me off,

    but cover is hot

  2. I have to agree completely with Melannie... The cover? Well she looks pretty kick-butt! But the ending sucking? That is such a booger... :/

  3. The book itself rocked my ever lovin socks... but I just can't get over the horrible ending. I was hoping to see a sequel maybe... but haven't heard heads or tails of what to expect from this author yet.
