Caitlyn Monahan knows she belongs somewhere else. It's
what her dead mother's note suggested, and it's what her recurring nightmares allude to.

Desperate to flee these terrifying dreams--and her small town--she accepts a spot at a boarding school in France. Only, when she arrives, her nightmares get worse.

But then there are her amazing dreams, so vivid and so real, with visits from an alluring, mysterious, and gorgeous Italian boy from the 1500s. Caitlyn knows they are soul mates, but how can she be in love with someone who exists only in her dreams?

Then, as her reality and dream world collide, Caitlyn searches for the real reason why she was brought to this school. And what she discovers will change her life forever.

Caitlyn is an ordinary girl living in Oregon with her dad and step mom. Her mother passed away when she was 4 years old in a car accident. Ever since Caitlyn has been having nightmares, dreams in which she calls Screechers. The Screechers are named after what she sees in the dreams, shadows which seem to be screaming. She has two best friends but other than them she seems to be invisible in her school.

Caitlyn comes home from school one day, and begins looking online. She stumbles upon  a school which is located in France and the tuition happens to be monthly and twice as much as her dad makes in a year. Even though she doesn't think there is a chance that she will ever be accepted, Caitlyn applies. To her surprise she is accepted to this very prestigious school, and she is offered a full scholarship.

Soon Caitlyn is on her way to one of the best schools in the world. Caitlyn hopes that the school will open academic opportunities for her in which her current school would never be able to offer. Once at Chateau De La Fortune Caitlyn begins having dreams about a boy name Raphael, but this is the most realistic dream she has ever had. Caitlyn begins trying to fall asleep so that she can dream about him.

Caitlyn is soon falling in love with Raphael, but he needs her to do something for him... help him find a fortune hidden somewhere at the school... is love enough to conquer all?

I LOVED Wake Unto Me! It has amazing characters and a believable plot, even though the concept is far fetched. I had no problem being sucked into Caitlyn's life. She has amazing friends that are willing to help her... and believe her no matter how crazy the idea seems. Caitlyn and Raphael's relationship is very well developed, it wasn't rushed into. I could see how they were slowly falling for each other. You can tell from the writing that there is a lot more to their relationship than that they find each other attractive. That is a hard thing to find this day and age in a paranormal romance. I was really hoping that this would turn out to be a series but the ending doesn't leave a whole lot of room for another book. You never know though maybe the author will surprise us. After reading about Caitlyn and her friends I can't wait to see what else Lisa Cach has to offer. If its anything like Wake Unto Me, It will be nothing short of amazing.
