Bianca and Lucas have always believed they could endure anything to be together. When a twist of fate not only transforms Bianca into a ghostly wraith, but also turns Lucas into a vampire—the very creature he spent his life hunting—they are left reeling.
Haunted by his powerful need to kill, Lucas can turn to only one place for help... Evernight Academy. Bianca is determined to remain with him. But with the vampire leader of Evernight waging a war against wraiths, her former home has become the most dangerous place she could be, despite the new powers her transformation has given her.
A battle between wraiths and vampires looms, and Bianca and Lucas face a terrifying new reality. They’ve overcome every obstacle life has thrown at them, but is their love strong enough to survive the challenges after life?

Bianca has died and become a wraith. Lucas has died and become a vampire… the one thing he despises most. Lucas isn’t just having a hard time coming to terms with his newly undeadness, he is also trying to deal with one hell of a blood lust, one worse than most vampires have to endure. So what are they going to do to help him over come this and help him learn how to live as a vampire? Easy! Lucas is going to Evernight Academy.

Lucas is enrolled in Evernight Academy to help him deal with being around humans and not wanting to kill them. There seems to be one issue though…. Someone is capturing the wraiths and holding them captive in traps, although no one knows why exactly. So Bianca and Lucas start trying to figure out why and who would want to capture wraiths and what do they want them for? And are Bianca and Lucas really meant to be when she is a ghost and he is a vampire?

Afterlife was so amazing from the very first page to the very last. I will admit, as I am sure that all of you as well, I have been anticipating getting this book since I finished Hourglass. I hated how Hourglass ended, and had to have some of my questions answered. Afterlife answered all those questions for me. I did however have an inkling that Bianca and Lucas were not going to make it as a couple in this book. But then again I also always hoped that Bianca would end up with Balthazar. I don’t know why, but I did. I  really love how we get to see a bit more of Vic and Maxie in this book, although I would have liked to have had some light shown on how Maxie had died…. But there just wasn’t. Over all this book seduced me! I couldn’t help but fall in love the characters and sympathize with them, and all there supernatural issues. I do wish that their was going to be another book in the series, but this book definitely tied up in the end. There was no cliff hanger. I was hoping for a really epic ending but the ending kind of fell short for me. It seemed as though it was a little rushed. I did thoroughly enjoy it though… it was the perfect ending to a terrific series!

  1. Thanks for the review! I really want to read this book. I'm glad you thought the ending was good and questions were answered. I hated how the last book ended, too.

  2. Yeah that was the same issue that I had with Hourglass... I hated the ending, so much that I almost didn't pick up this book, but I am really glad that I did.

  3. yeah the hourglass ending was really frustrating. im glad you gave this one ties up all the loose ends. cant wait to read it!
