Hell on earth.

That’s what it’s like for Luce to be apart from her fallen angel boyfriend, Daniel.
It took them an eternity to find one another, but now he has told her he must go away. Just long enough to hunt down the Outcasts—immortals who want to kill Luce. Daniel hides Luce at Shoreline, a school on the rocky California coast with unusually gifted students: Nephilim, the offspring of fallen angels and humans.

At Shoreline, Luce learns what the Shadows are, and how she can use them as windows to her previous lives. Yet the more Luce learns, the more she suspects that Daniel hasn’t told her everything. He’s hiding something—something dangerous.
What if Daniel’s version of the past isn’t actually true? What if Luce is really meant to be with someone else?

My Thoughts:
I found Torment enchanting and extremely addictive!

Now that one battle is over... its time to start another. Daniel has taken Luce away from Sword & Cross and has enrolled her in Shoreline ... A school where Nephilim learn how to prefect their skills. There are more people after Luce and the only ones that can hide her are Nephilim, because their presence cloud those who would be able to sense her.

Once again she is seperated from Daniel. They will be apart for eighteen days... the legnth of the truce with Cam, to help protect Luce. How is Luce going to survive without Daniel? Also everyone at Shoreline seem to know her! Luce and Daniel are a bit of a legend there... everyone seems to know about Luce's past that is....except Luce!

Luce makes some new friends and a new love interest! Shelby is Luce's roommate. She is tough on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside... okay so maybe not so warm and welcoming! Then there is Miles who Luce starts to develop feelings for while at Shoreline. Miles is laid back and sweet. Luce doesn't feel as though he is always hiding something from her.

The age old question hangs in the balance.... what if Luce was meant for someone else? What will happen to Luce and Daniel?

We also get graced with everyone from Fallen with a few exceptions. Roland is now going to Shoreline with Luce and we also catch up with Arianne along the way. Which I was very happy to see! I LOVE her spunkiness! I also love the new characters. Miles is just a sweetheart... I couldn't help but route for him at one point (don't shoot me... I still love Daniel) But it just seemed that Miles and Luce could be themselves with no added expectations. Which is great for her, not needing to feel like she might die if she is close to someone. Over all this book is amazing... and I was definitely anticipating its release and must say that I wasn't one bit disappointed. I was just as bit addicted to Torment as I had been with Fallen. Torment is a memorizing, magical page turner, that you won't want to set down!
