Evie’s always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even though she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours.
But Evie’s about to realize that she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.
So much for normal.

Absolutely Fabulous! I found myself more engrossed in Paranormalcy than I had originally thought I would be.

Evie is a 16 year old girl, who has never met her parents, never had any type of family and spent up until she was 10 in foster homes. Now Evie works at a company called IPCA, she uses what ability she has to see through paranormal creatures glamour (what they use to disguise themselves from humans.)
Evie has never found a paranormal that she didn't know what they were. Until now...

Lend is unlike anything that Evie has even seen before... she doesn't even know if other people can see him as she does, where he is so transparent. Lend is a shape shifter, he uses what he sees other people look like and can take their form. But there is nothing like him at the IPCA, nor have any of them encountered a paranormal with that ability before.

Soon Evie starts spending time Lend in his cell, to help kill time. After all he is the only one around that is her age, and she finds that she begins to start having feelings for him. All of a sudden paranormals begin being killed and no one knows who is behind it. To make matters worse is her ex-boyfriend who is a faerie and will stop at nothing to make Evie his... including taking her against her will. Will Evie have time to stop the killer before they kill off all paranormals, including her and her new friend Lend?

Paranormalcy was nothing short of amazing. It caught me from the moment I opened the book until the very last page. I was actually sad to see it end. Evie is an awesome main character, she can kick some ass and be a girly girl in the same moment. Its the perfect combination. The way Evie see's Lend took my breath away, she see's through all of his glamours and likes him, for who and what he is. From the get go I had very mixed feelings about Evie's ex-boyfriend, I wasn't sure if he was just a creep or if he was an all over bad guy. Paranormalcy is addicting and thought provoking. I never had a moment when I was able to predict what would be next! What a fantastic debut for Kiersten White... I hope to see more about Evie and Lend in a sequel? I guess time will tell!
