Seventeen-year-old Alice Bonham's life feels out of control after she meets Jack. With his fondness for pink Chuck Taylors and New Wave hits aside, Jack's unlike anyone she's ever met.

Then she meets his brother, Peter. His eyes pierce through her, and she can barely breathe when he's around. Even though he can't stand the sight of her, she's drawn to him.

But falling for two very different guys isn't even the worst of her problems. Jack and Peter are vampires, and Alice finds herself caught between love and her own blood...

My Thoughts:
My first feelings toward My Blood Approves was "Twilight Knock Off". Well I want to apologize to Amanda Hocking the author of My Blood Approves because its not at all like Twilight and I feel guilty and a bit ashamed for assuming that it would be!

Alice is your normal High School girl, trying to fit in and stay under the radar. She has an out of control friend named, a mother who is more or less never around, and a little brother who acts far beyond his years. One night after her and her friend are attempting to get into a club they decide that they are going to walk as far as they can home in order to cut the cab cost. On their way home they are approached my 4 guys who are shouting sexual jokes at them. When they get cornered in a parking garage... her friend leaves her to fend for herself. As the guys begin to corner Alice, a car pulls up and a guy gets out and scares the guys off... well the guy in the car just so happens to also offer them a ride home, They graciously accept. Who is this guy you ask? Its Jack! Someone that Alice feels nothing for immediately but is somehow curious about.

Jack is just trying to find a way to spend eternity when he meets Alice. He immediately notices, that where everyone else falls all over themselves to get to him, Alice doesn't and he can't understand why. After that night Jack and Alice begin a friendship, Alice seems to want to spend all her time with Jack and vise versa. Then enters Peter, Jacks brother. Alice feels a pull towards Peter unlike anyone she has ever known, but she can't figure out why.

I fell in love with the characters in this book. I love how Alice cares so much about everyone around her, and how Jack, even though he knows he shouldn't, can't help but want to be with Alice. I just couldn't get enough! During reading this I would actually find myself smiling to myself, at one point... I was crying... real tears... yes I cried! I have to admit though I am so TEAM JACK! Sorry Peter... but compared to Jack... well... I just don't like you! I am very pleased that I have the entire series of this to read... I will be starting on the next book Fate right after I finish this review... I have to know what happens that badly! This is such an awesome book, and a fabulous debut! If you get the chance ... Pick up a copy of My Blood Approves over at Amazon. Trust me I would recommend this book to anyone! Its nothing short of breathtaking!

Rating: 10/10

  1. No problem! Thanks for writing such an awesome book!

  2. I like this review, mainly because it almost completely agrees with my own opinion... :)
Though I would add that Amanda Hocking has a really easy-to-read conversational style of writing that completely pulls you along. At times it's more like having a chat than reading a book...
The thing that annoyed me a little about this, though, was the way the vampires were all cool and beautiful and EVERYTHING. Why aren't they sometimes a bit geeky or whatever, that's always been
    a bugbear of mine!

  3. This is a very addictive game with great graphics.
