It's not every day you see a naked body slumped by the side of the road... This ominous sight is just the beginning of a mystery that will span two dimensions. When California teen Arizona Darley and her siblings go missing, their mother, Dr. Olivia Darley, discovers that the time-travel portal she invented has been hijacked. Is the hijacker responsible for the disappearance of her children? Have the children been transported to another dimension? If so, the police and FBI will never be able to find them, and Olivia must find a way to rescue her children on her own. How will she do this without access to the portal? EQUILIBRIUM is book two of the Portal Chronicles.

My Thoughts:
Equilibrium is much more serious than Portal in my opinion, but it fits the role of the book well! Imogen out did herself on this one.

Arizona and Kellan are kidnapped while down at the lake watching the stars. When they wake up neither of them can move and they don't know where they are or why they are there. Turns out they are in a very dark, very smelly cement room... but they can't figure a way out of it, and on top of things... they were drugged and can't function well.

A door in the room opens and a blinding ray of light comes in, with no warning someone is dragging Arizona towards the light and away from Kellan. Where are they taking her and why?

That's all Arizona can remember when she wakes up  in a house that she definitely recognizes... but not where she has been living. She hears a voice beckoning her to get up and get ready for school... who is that? Is that her DAD?  Arizona has woke up in her bed, back in the dimension where she lives with her dad and she is a rough and tumble hockey player. But she doesn't see in the mirror what she expected.... she woke up Barbie Arizona.

Arizona doesn't know how she got here, but she does know that she wants to get back to her life as Arizona Daley and be with Kellan, her siblings and her mother. How is she going to get back, when she has no idea how she got here to begin with?

Equilibrium is full of suspense! Which I thought really made the book. Arizona finds that she has adapted to her life as Arizona Darley a bit better than she had originally thought. I also love the reactions of all her friends in her life as Arizona Stevens, when they see her with blonde hair! Its priceless! I also like how the relationship between Kellan and Arizona is progressing. We also find out a secret about David, which I was shocked at, but loved every minute! This book is a page turner... I had to finish it one sitting!... I just couldn't help myself! Yet another great read from Imogen Rose!

Look for Quantum, which is the sequel to Equilibrium. I couldn't find a release date on that, but will update once I do.
